Founded in 1970, the Community Health and Social Services Center, also known as CHASS, is a primary care clinic that provides medical and health care services. Located in Detroit, the center primarily serves Hispanic and African-American populations. It also administers the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program, which is a federal health, nutrition and prevention program for pregnant women, infants and children under the age of 5. The Community Health and Social Services Center offers family support, referral and counseling services. In addition, the center provides dental care, educational and training-related services. The Community Health and Social Services Center employs a bilingual staff that offers medical instructions in English and Spanish.
