The historic Chippewa Hotel offers Mackinac Island visitors Victorian style combined with modern amenities, such as air conditioning and coffee makers in every room. Built in 1902, the Chippewa Hotel is home to the famed Pink Pony Bar and Grill, which was established in the late 1940s and was named third-best restaurant in Michigan in the 2005 Michigan s Best poll. The Chippewa Hotel underwent a $3 million renovation in 1994, which included the addition of new, lakeside luxury suites and modern amenities in each room. A new restaurant was added at that time, in addition to an outdoor deck that allows patrons to enjoy the beautiful waterfront views.
