In 1989 Michael A. Vlasic founded MAVD in connection with his family's business, Vlasic Investments, LLC. Since the 1930s, the Vlasic family has been an active investor and operator of businesses in Southeast Michigan, most notably Vlasic Foods which was sold to Campbell Soup Company in 1978.
