The Battle Creek Enquirer is the only daily newspaper in Battle Creek, Mich. Owned by Gannett Company, its history of providing news in Michigan dates back to 1900 as the Morning Enquirer. Several ownerships later, Gannett purchased the newspaper in 1971. It has expanded to a staff of more than 200 editors, writers, photographers, designers and press operators. Also known as The Enquirer, it had a daily circulation of more than 24,000 in 2005, with a Sunday edition circulation exceeding 33,000 subscribers. The newspaper offers news, opinions and sports coverage to subscribers, as well as an online newspaper that offers classifieds, job postings and real estate listings on the Internet.
