Located in Winter Hill, this K-8 school's stated vision is to "ensure that all students excel academically, and are promoted from the eighth grade with the skills and knowledge needed to be successful at the secondary level."
Several partnerships with Tufts University provide reading, math and science enrichment for students. A Sheltered English Immersion Program (SEIP) offers language development support to English learners. The Supplemental Educational Services (SES) Program provides additional tutoring. But the academics and mind-building activities are not just limited to the school day. An extensive after-school program offers tutoring as well as arts, music and sports activities.
Plenty of outdoor space surrounds the school. Students can make use of the jungle gyms, several basketball courts, a school garden and a large black-top area. The school is a demonstration site for the Quaglia Institute for Student Aspirations, a nonprofit program that helps students set goals and achieve them. All students are also taught the social-emotional curriculum, Second Step.
The school is led by Principal Stephen M. Tuccelli. School stats and test scores may be found here and on the school web page.
