The Winchendon School is a nonprofit, college preparatory boarding and day school that enrolls boys and girls in grades eight through 12. Founded in 1926, it offers remediation in mathematics, writing and reading to help students with specific learning disabilities. The school also offers several other academic courses, including English, Latin, French, Spanish, history, political science, American culture, calculus, music appreciation, art history, photography and computer programming. It is located on a more than 236-acre campus that includes various outdoor facilities, such as a swimming pool, 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, cross-country ski trails, and baseball, lacrosse and soccer fields. The Winchendon School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and is affiliated with the National Association of Independent Schools. It is located in Winchendon, Mass.
