Willie Ross School for the Deaf is one of the leading schools for hearing-impaired students in the United States. It was founded in 1967 by parents who sought innovative and contemporary programs for their children. It offers a range of academic subjects to students. Willie Ross School for the Deaf also provides early intervention services to infants through universal newborn screening programs sponsored by birthing centers and hospitals. The school organizes various spoprts activities, inlcuding basketball and cheerleading. It conducts on- and off-campus sign language classes.
