Operational for more than 50 years, United Cerebral Palsy is a nonprofit, human services organization that serves persons with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Founded in 1949, its affiliates serve more than 170,000 children and adults with disabilities and their families every day. The organization provides housing, therapy, and individual and family support services, as well as early intervention and social and recreational programs. United Cerebral Palsy also offers a variety of sports and leisure activities. It provides health care services to women with issues, including menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth, contraception and menopause. In addition, the organization offers the Individualized Education Program, which includes language and occupational therapy services to students with disabilities.
