Long considered one of the country's top universities, Tufts main 20-acre campus has been located on the border of Medford and Somerville since the school was established in 1852. Its undergraduate program has regularly been ranked among the top 50 in the country. While undergraduates primarily spend their time at the Medford/Somerville campus, the school's medical school is run out of Boston, near Tufts Medical Center, and its veterinarian program is located in Grafton.
