About Dr. Halpin Thomas F. Halpin, MD, FACOG is a board-certified gynecologist with over 50 years of experience specializing in abnormal pap smear follow-up, infertility, and menopausal issues. Dr. Halpin provides a full scope of gynecological services from two convenient office locations in the towns of Shrewsbury and Worcester, Massachusetts, and continues to successfully meet the health care needs of women from communities across the greater Worcester County area. In addition to offering routine preventive health care for women, including pap smears and osteoporosis screenings, Dr. Halpin has extensive experience providing comprehensive care for chronic conditions such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Dr. Halpin earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston in 1963. He went on to complete a residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City, as well as a postdoctoral fellowship with the American Cancer Society. Dr. Halpin has long been affiliated with UMass Memorial Medical Center, a research and teaching hospital, where he has served as Director of Gynecology as well as Medical Staff President. He also has many years of experience teaching medical students and residents as a professor.
