The Rose & Crown began its life as a livery stable for horses and carriages in the 1800s. During the next 150 years, 23 South Water Street has served as a gas station and an art studio. In the mid-70s, it became The Rose & Crown restaurant. Named for a shoal 7 miles off the Southeastern coast of Nantucket, "The Crown," has been serving islanders and visitors continuously for the past 40+ years and is still going strong. We like to think of ourselves as a place where everyone can visit, feel welcome, and be treated like a local. Our menus are designed with something for everyone. Whether it's our dining menu, our cocktail menu, our extensive craft beer list, or our inventive "Mocktail" list, you are sure to find something that will satisfy your hunger and quench your thirst. The Rose & Crown is always family friendly and accommodating to big groups. We're a great gathering spot for drinks, food, and entertainment.
