The welcoming, warm, well-kept facade and beautiful views of Salem Commons and the surrounding tree-lined streets belie the most intriguing feature of this bed 'n' breakfast. The estate was built in 1842 and later purchased by John Ethridge who, along with his daughter and several other occupants, apparently never left. A two-time Best of Salem award winner, The Inn on Washington Square (est. 1996) is also the first paranormal bed 'n' breakfast on New England's North Shore.
