For more than 30 years, the Sullivan Square Community Garden has provided a peaceful buffer between a residential and an industrial area. Its 63 plots are assigned to and maintained by volunteer gardeners from Charlestown, who grow vegetables and hundreds of varieties of flowers and perennials. At the height of the growing season, the garden is lush and visitors are welcome to explore it through meandering paths. Local residents can sign up for a plot. A waiting list is posted at the garden as well as on the Gardens for Charlestown website.
