South Cove Community Health Center was founded in 1972 by a group of volunteers in response to the inadequate provision of primary care services. It provides medical and behavioral health services and conducts youth and family programs. The center is comprised of more than 150 employees and serves over 20,000 patients annually. South Cove Community Health Center offers services related to gynecology, optometry and pediatrics. It also conducts chronic disease, blood pressure screening and community outreach programs. The center operates a family life center that administers an after-school enrichment program. South Cove Community Health Center operates administration and finance, development, medical, and family and behavioral health divisions. It maintains a presence in Boston.
