SCM Community Transportation's program Door2Door provides free public transportation for senior citizens or those with disabilities who are unable to drive themselves. These trips provide local residents with a way to run vital errands such as grocery shopping, visiting a sick loved one or making a doctor's appointment, and allows them to maintain their independence.
SCM can also accommodate paid rides for up to 14 persons to go on trips or excursions. For Somerville residents to take advantage of the trips, they must be 62 years of age or older or have a mobility impairment. The program is also available for Cambridge, Medford and Everett residents who are over the age of 62.
