Rudd's Tasty Treat Restaurant Starting in 1973, Rudd's Tasty Treat has been a part of the Holyoke community. The ice cream shop was purchased by Joe & Marci Ruddeforth as a traditional Tasty Freeze franchise. As times changed, the franchise disbanded and Rudd's Tasty Treat was born. In 1978, homemade ice cream was introduced to the menu. Bill Ruddeforth, son of Joe & Marci, makes all the homemade ice cream on premises. The take-out menu has expanded to include favorites like chicken fingers, chili cheese hot dogs and specialty hamburgers. Rudd's General Store A building expansion in 1988 led to the addition of Rudd's General Store. Everyday grocery needs along with beer, wine and liquor are available at General Store. To continue your shopping trip, Rudd's has a full Massachusetts State Lottery station including indoor Keno seating. An outside picnic area includes a Keno screen for up to the minute playing excitement. Today, we are still family owned and operated by Bill and Pauline Ruddeforth. We look forward to serving you and your family for lunch, dinner, ice cream treats and snacks. Stop down to try any of our 25 different homemade flavors of ice cream, pick up dinner on the way home, or check your winning lottery tickets.
