Northshore Education Consortium, founded in 1974, is a regional educational collaborative of more than five cities and over 10 towns. It develops and delivers educational programs and services for students with educational, developmental and emotional and behavioral challenges. The consortium serves more than 300 students in over 40 districts throughout Northeastern Massachusetts. Headquartered in Beverly, Mass., the consortium consists of more than 200 professionals, paraprofessionals and experts who offer knowledge and expertise in a wide range of educational and therapeutic specialty areas. Its services include home training, programs for visually impaired, professional development and curriculum design and consultation. Its embark program offers public transportation training, consumer skills and social options. It also offers career preparation and training, assessment, internship opportunities and job placement.
