The New England Water Works Association (NEWWA) is a nonprofit organization that seeks to improve drinking water and water utility operations through education, training and public outreach. Founded during the Era of Progress in 1882, NEWWA seeks to "advance the knowledge, science, government awareness and public trust of the water works profession." NEWWA currently serves 2,900 members, including water utility managers, operators, consulting engineers, manufacturers' representatives, suppliers, educators and interested citizens.
