National Retail Tenants Association is a not-for-profit corporation whose purpose is to enhance the personal and professional education of its members and the profitability of its member companies. The NRTA hosted its first national conference in Boston in 1996. The response to the educational event was overwhelmingly favorable, and the demand to continue its information-sharing educational forums has grown dramatically. In response to this highly favorable reaction within the lease management industry, the NRTA was formally incorporated as a not-for-profit, educational association in 1997. The NRTA's educational programs are highly regarded as a source of personal and professional development, networking, information-sharing and premier educational events. Each year, the NRTA conducts a National Conference and Trade Show and a series of Webinars for members and non-members. The NRTA membership is over 450 individual professional members representing more than 250 member companies. Headquartered in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, the NRTA is directed by its Officers and a Board of Governors. Officer positions consist of a President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. There are nine Governors on the Association's Board. Officers and Governors are elected by a vote of the members at the annual meeting of the Association. The annual meeting usually occurs concurrently with the annual conference. The Association maintains four standing committees ; they are Ethics, Membership, Curriculum and Conference committees. The day-to-day business of the association is under the management of an Executive Director.
