Specialties
Mill City Grows (MCG) works on innovative ways to combat food injustice in Lowell, Massachusetts. We pursue this mission through education both in and out of schools, supporting community leadership through community gardens, increasing urban agriculture in Lowell through three urban farm sites, implementing a mobile market, and empowering people to produce their own food. MCG's two main program areas are Food Access and Food Education. Our work in Food Justice is rooted in the idea that a well-educated community will make healthier food choices. Our Mobile Market sells our locally grown produce as well as locally made specialty products. It operates independently of our main office at 650 Suffolk Street in Lowell and runs from June - November, with a year-round indoor market stop every Sunday at The Farm Market at Mill No. 5 at 250 Jackson Street.
