The community of Lynnfield has had its own public library since Lynnfield Social Library was built back in 1795. The town's current public library building was constructed in 1904 out of a former school building on Summer Street across from Town Hall, and the current Children's Room still contains part of the original school building.
Since the 1950s, the library has seen many additions and expansions, including the construction of a mezzanine, a ramp and an elevator. Obtaining a library card is free for any residents of Massachusetts, and the library is connected to the NOBLE (North of Boston Library Exchange) network, which allows patrons to request books and other materials from libraries within the 28-member consortium. The Lynnfield library offers thousands of fiction and non-fiction books, music CDs, DVDs and videos, periodicals and reference materials and also provides free wireless internet service.

Winchester Public Library

The Winchester Public Library, situated behind Town Hall, offers a number of programs and activities for its patrons, both young and old. Reference librarians are always available to the public to help with locating information, use of the internet and research projects. The library has a young adults section, located on the upper floor, that serves children ages 12 - 18. It also participates in the Massachusetts's state summer reading program. The library has book websites specifically aimed at teens and a homework center open everyday after school. For children, the library offers storytelling, book groups, drop-in craft programs and a variety of performers. The library also has memberships to area museums and attractions available for Winchester residents only. The Winchester Public Library was founded in 1858, and the current building was constructed in 1931. The building is a combination of an art gallery and a library. And in 1996, the library underwent a complete renovation.

Burlington Public Library

Completed in 1968, the current Burlington Public Library replaced the old facility at the Center School, which was too small to accommodate the growing town population. The building was renovated and expanded in 1995 to comply with building accessibility standards and size requirements. The library has more than 91,000 print items and 17,000 non-print items available to the public and more materials are available through inter-library loan. There are meeting rooms of various sizes for group meetings and study sessions and computers are available for use. Passes to many New England museums are available for purchase at the library. There are also notaries public on staff for anyone who needs to have a document notarized. The library also offers reading, educational and fun programs, including computer classes, for children, teens, and adults.
