Lapels Dry Cleaning

The Newtonville branch of this small, national chain truly caters to its customers. Owner Maria Egidio-Barros (who also owns the Brighton shop) picks up and delivers to her devoted clients, and her daughter Cynthia Barros cheerfully supports her mother behind the counter. Coupons from competitors (even expired ones) are honored. Customers needing suits pressed or laundry washed are also treated to friendly conversation, and regulars come in just to catch up and shoot the breeze. The store is accessible via the Newtonville stop on the MBTA Commuter Rail.
