Founded in 1974, Key Program is a nonprofit organization that assists troubled youths and their families. It offers a range of residential and nonresidential programs, outpatient mental health care and educational services. The organization provides case management, family support, mentoring, educational advocacy, basic needs assistance, behavior stabilization, and violence and pregnancy prevention services. It also offers substance abuse education and treatment planning, transportation assistance, tutoring, school monitoring, parenting skills training and community mapping services. The organization offers individual, group and family counseling, medication reviews and case consultation services through its licensed, outpatient mental health clinic. In addition, it operates group homes and detention programs for female and male offenders, as well as a federally funded overnight alternative lock-up facility for youths making a court appearance. The organization receives funds form several public and social service agencies and private foundations.
