History
In 1976 Julia Boynton, began teaching tap at the former Joy of Movement Center in Cambridge, (currently The Dance Complex). From there she established a following at the Jeannette Neill Dance Studio in Boston and the Leon Collins Studio in Brookline, eventually renting her own space along with tap dancer Pam Raff at St. Paul's Church in Brookline. When the church renovated, the studio there closed, and Julia, along with Irish dancer Kieran Jordan, co-founded Boston Percussive Dance which ran for five years at Green Street Studios in Cambridge. Seeking a more permanent home, in 2014 Julia moved her business to the new studios at the Deborah Mason Performing Arts Center in Somerville.
