The Islamic Society of South Shore (IS3) is a community organization located in Brockton, MA, dedicated to integrating communities and promoting understanding of the Islamic faith. With the support of generous donors, IS3 recently acquired a building on Forest Ave, marking a significant milestone in their mission. However, there is still work to be done to prepare the building for use, and IS3 encourages continued support from individuals who have previously supported their cause.
Islam, a monotheistic religion that has existed since the time of Adam and followed by prophets such as Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad, has several important doctrines known as the Five Pillars of Islam. These include the declaration of faith (Shahadah), prayer (Salat), charity (Zakat), and fasting during the month of Ramadan (Sawm). IS3 aims to educate and promote these principles to foster a greater understanding and appreciation of the Islamic faith within the community.
