Neighborhood Cooperative Nursery School is located in the First Congregational Church of Winchester at 21 Church Street. The school is a cooperative and is funded and maintained by the parents of the children attending the school. The parents work as aides in the classroom, help maintain the facility, raise money for equipment, serve on the board of directors and other committees. The goals of the school are to ensure that each child can foster a good self-image, to build trust and friendly relationships, to develop an interesting and challenging curriculum, to provide activities that stimulate a child's manipulative, cognitive and language skills, to provide an easily understandable routine, to capitalize on the assets of the staff, parents and community and to protect each child's rights and physical well-being.
