Braintree Municipal Golf Course
The BMGA is a non-profit organization that strives to improve the conditions and enjoyment of golf at the Braintree Municipal Golf Course to include sponsoring events and tournaments at the course on a weekly basis. All BMGA members receive a USGA handicap via the Massachusetts Golf Association ( MGA ) which entitles a golfer to compete in all BMGA Tournaments and other publicly offered amateur tournaments throughout the United States. Handicap Services An initial handicap is assigned after 5 scorecards have been submitted to the Association's Handicap Chairman or through the MGA GHIN Handicap System. Scores can be posted via the Internet, as well as through the BMGA computer system, located within the course clubhouse. All BMGA members are eligible and invited to participate in BMGA tournaments which are scheduled every weekend day and holiday from April through October. Additionally, tournaments are run on Wednesday mornings throughout the golfing season. Tournament information and a schedule of events are available in the Pro Shop, on our association bulletin board in the clubhouse, and on the Association's website. Sign-up sheets for all tournaments are located in the Pro Shop. Tournament entry fees are generally $5 - $8 with tournament prizes awarded in the form of chits redeemable for merchandise in the Pro Shop. To be eligible to participate in the Club Championship, BMGA members must participate in five BMGA sponsored tournaments.
