Since its establishment in 1955, Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding has produced more than 350 high-quality commercial vessels. The company is renowned for its ability to design and build unique and specialized craft, such as fast ferries, police and fire boats, pilot boats, tug boats, fishing boats, research vessels and other distinctive vessels. In 1987, it delivered its first INCAT designed high-speed catamaran. Since then, the company has built more than 30 passenger vessels. The company works exclusively with INCAT Designs of Sydney, Australia, to develop high-speed catamaran designs. Its pilot boats are designed in conjunction with C. Raymond Hunt Associates, the developer of the Deep-V hull. The company is recognized as a premiere pilot boat builder in the United States. Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding is located in Somerset, Mass.
