The Friends of Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge (FMNWR) is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to the long-term protection and enhancement of native wildlife and habitats within the Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) in East Falmouth, MA. With over 5,800 acres of accessible open space, the MNWR is the second largest on Cape Cod and is managed by eight conservation land partners, making it unique within the US Fish and Wildlife National Refuge System.
FMNWR works cooperatively with the MNWR Partners to support their activities in education, research, and stewardship projects. They promote advocacy, conservation, and recreational opportunities within the refuge, including the creation of pollinator gardens and sponsoring workshops. Visitors to the refuge can explore diverse ecosystems, hike through trails, observe a variety of wildlife, and engage in birding and kayaking activities. By joining FMNWR, individuals can make a difference in their community and support conservation efforts in Mashpee and the surrounding area on Cape Cod.
