History
The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA), founded in 1985 by Director Raye Lynn Mercer, is a unique place in which community residents can explore their interests in the performing arts with professional instruction in a supportive and encouraging environment. FSPA's staff is made up of outstanding professional artists, performers and teachers. Their impressive credentials are indicative of the excellent instruction available in all programs and the high standards of excellence we hold for our school. FSPA instructors strive to meet the individual needs of each student, and rather than emphasizing competition, teachers work to develop each student's abilities to his or her own potential.
