The Water Department is a part of the Department of Public Works, which is governed by the Town of Framingham in Massachusetts. The department is responsible for the distribution of public water through a system of pumps, pipes, valves and reservoirs. The Water Department serves more than 15,000 residential and commercial clients. It also maintains and repairs the city s water distribution system, including hydrants, meters, water tanks, and pumping and booster stations. The department also coordinates meter repair and replacement programs. The Water Department participates in the federal lead sampling program that requires the scheduled testing of water supplied in the town.
