Dearborn Academy is a day school serving children in elementary, middle and high school with emotional, behavioral and learning difficulties. Dearborn Academy is a program of Schools for Children, a non-profit organization committed to creating and sustaining high quality schools, curricula and other education programs and services. Howard Rossman is the school's director.
Dearborn Academy began in the 1940's as the first of Lesley "home-grown" lab schools. Known as the Cambridge Town School, it provided remedial education to students who were failing in their public schools. Over the next three decades, additional lab schools were developed, and in 1982, following a move to Arlington, the schools were consolidated into a single entity: Dearborn Academy.
