Founded in 1910, the Christopher Columbus Society began as a nonprofit social organization for individuals of Italian-American descent. Although its membership was originally limited to those with Italian lineage, the Christopher Columbus Society now accepts members of any heritage. The club offers a full-service bar, a pool table, dart boards and several televisions. Each year, it holds a golf tournament to raise money for its scholarship fund. Members also participate in other charitable efforts, such as the annual North Shore Cancer Walk.
