Children's Services of Roxbury and United Homes for Children merged to form Children's Services of Roxbury. Children's Services of Roxbury is one of the leading providers of child welfare and family services in Massachusetts. It offers a range of services and programs for economically disadvantaged infants, children, adolescents and families, as well as homeless adults. The agency addresses needs for food, shelter, safety and family support through promoting and strengthening healthy families and individuals and permanency placement for foster children. Children's Services of Roxbury deals in substance abuse problems, job-related skills, literacy barriers and welfare reform issues. The agency is a member of the Child Welfare League of America and the Black Administrators in Child Welfare. It is an affiliated agency of the United Way of Massachusetts Bay. Children's Services of Roxbury is also one of the largest, minority-administered agencies in Greater Boston.
