Centerville Historical Museum, founded in 1952, is located on the historical and picturesque Main Street in Centerville, Massachusetts. The museum started in the early '50s, after a group of local residents had begun to collect and share artifacts from Centerville's rich history and officially named themselves the Centerville Historical Society. The museum found its current home in 1955, when local resident Mary Lincoln died and her 1854 home was donated to the society. The 14-room museum hosts a large collection of historic costumes, maritime and military artifacts, quilts, 18th- and 19th-century decorative arts, paintings and much more.
The museum is also home to a gift shop featuring contemporary arts and crafts from local Cape Cod artisans and artists.
The museum provides a number of programs for all ages, including the Third Grade History Program, family days, field trips, walking tours of Main Street, living history days, lectures and more.
