History
A legacy started in 1907 by Asa Johnson Dodge, founder of the Dodge Chemical Company as the New England Institute of Sanitary Science and Anatomy, located in West Roxbury. In 1910 the school became officially chartered by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and in later years moved to Kenmore Square in Boston. The Dodge Chemical Company was on the first floor of the building the the mortuary school was on the floors above. You know the building by the Citco sign that historically sits upon it next to Fenway stadium. in 1989 the program was brought to Mount Ida College in Newton Massachusetts and in 2018 when Mount Ida College closed, the program was moved to Cape Cod Community College and sits in Brunell Hall on the Bridgewater State University Campus where it remains today.

Our program specializes in providing a quality education in funeral directing and embalming. Along with all other applicable state requirements, this program qualifies you to take your licensure exam in most states to become a funeral director and / or embalmer.
