The Cambridge Fencing Center, LLC is a registered member of the United States Fencing Association (USFA) and is dedicated to providing world-class instruction and exceptional service. Led by renowned coaches with international experience, including the varsity head coaches of MIT and Harvard University, the center offers fencing classes, practices, and individual lessons for men, women, and children of all ages. The state-of-the-art facility at MIT's DuPont Athletic Center Fencing Room in Cambridge, Massachusetts features 12 grounded strips, a computerized scoring system, and a wide-angle video camera for recording and reviewing practices.
Founded by Jarek Koniusz, an Associate Professor Senior Coach at MIT and Head Coach of MIT's Women's and Men's Varsity Fencing Teams, the Cambridge Fencing Center has a rich history of success. With over 30 years of international level competition as both a coach and athlete, Koniusz has led MIT fencing to 20 New England Championship titles and has qualified 44 fencers to the NCAA Championship. His expertise and accomplishments have earned him numerous accolades, including being honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Polish Fencing Federation. Alongside Koniusz, Coach Rob Hupp, who has over 40 years of fencing experience, contributes to the center's commitment to providing top-notch training and instruction.
