History
Boston Judo Club was founded by Andrea Muccini and William Stevens in 2008. Boston Judo Club started with only a handful of students and has continued to grow over the years. Our instructors hold expert certifications in their respective fields and provide students with safe and quality judo instruction at all classes. Boston Judo Club lives at the Ultimate Self Defense & Performance Center, Inc. in south South Boston. The Ultimate Self Defense Center is open 7 days a week and hosts judo classes every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. This judo club is family founded and family friendly. Everyone is encouraged to try a class and join one of the fastest growing judo clubs in central Boston.
Specialties
The aim of the Boston Judo Club is to develop the whole person through judo training. We expect all judo students to: respect themselves and others; be flexible in mind and body; attend class and train hard; be on their best behavior on and off of the mat; maintain a calm and clear mind; act sincerely at all times; work to improve themselves mentally, physically and spiritually; and leave this world a better place than when they arrived. The purpose for practicing judo is physical development, mental development and self defense. It is the world's most practiced martial art and an Olympic sport. It is a lot of fun and an excellent base for all martial arts and sports that require balance, mental agility, speed, conditioning, and complex physical moves.
