Briscoe Middle School, founded in 1923 and located in Beverly, Mass., has a student body of more than 1,000 students in grades six through eight. The students are divided into three teams for the academic subjects of math, science, social studies and English. Additionally, the school offers French, German, and Spanish as world languages in grades seven and eight. Its expressive arts program includes art, music, health, computers, wellness, physical education, writing and technology. It also offers band and chorus programs at each grade level. The school has a library-media center that is fully automated and contains computers with Internet access. It also has a modern computer lab for teacher and student use. Briscoe Middle School offers student support programs and offers classes for students with learning disabilities, language-based disabilities, developmental delays and behavioral disorders.
