This growth began with our representation of quality estates and is further fueled by improved programming and services.It all starts with quality brands. Many of our wineries have been recognized by The Beverage Tasting Institute, Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast and virtually every other wine critic. Viu Manent, Elena Walch, and others have been recognized as "Premier Wineries" of the world and receive Excellent and Outstanding reviews by critics. Other emerging wineries such as Stephen Vincent, Peirano Estates, and others are experiencing rapid acceptance due to their classical characteristics, beautiful appearance, are offered at a great value.Retailers and on premise businesses are experiencing a very difficult economic environment. Changes in the U.S. economy have shown up locally with a changing buying pattern of goods and services. At the same time, the fall in the dollar makes the importing of goods and services relatively more expensive. The combination of softening demand and increased prices make business more difficult for our clients. Baystate Wine Company has answers to these vexing problems and is responding to help solve client issues.First, Baystate Wine & Spirits our suppliers have been working diligently to hold the line on pricing by finding efficiencies and compressing margins in order to offset the impact to retailers. While others are consistently seeing price increases of many levels, Baystate has been able to limit price changes to fewer of our offerings.Second, Baystate is an organization that has begun to achieve scale and is experiencing a decrease in our costs of sales and distribution. These savings are being passed directly back to customers so that they can more aggressively serve their markets.Third, the combination of increased sales and lower costs has allowed us to establish new programs with improved discounts. Clients have asked for programs that do not require them to inventory large stacks and that provide for more flexible selection.
