The Ashland Fire Department provides fire protection and prevention and rescue services to the citizens of Ashland, 24 hours and seven days a week. The department has more than 20 full-time personnel, including firefighters and dispatchers. Its apparatus includes engines, ambulances, cars and rescue boats. The Ashland Fire Department provides advanced life support emergency medical services to its citizens. It is certified to provide emergency care through the Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services and the Metro Boston EMS Council. The Ashland Fire Department also conducts inspection of smoke detectors at homes and live burn training sessions annually at its training division.
