When Jane Deimezis and her husband opened Appleton Antique Lighting in 1978, did they know that 20-plus years later they would be responsible for restoring fixtures for the Brookline Library and Harvard University? Probably not. But two moves and a shift from general antiques to antique lighting later, the folks at Appleton are still helping the Brookline community. The store features hundreds of side table, floor and ceiling fixtures. Many of the store's quality pieces date from the 1800s, and the younger lamps originated in the 1940s. All lamps in the shop have been updated to meet modern safety regulations.
