The American Legion is a chartered organization that operates posts throughout the United States. The organization provides aid for veterans and members of the armed forces. It assists veterans with benefits and pensions. Local Post 191 is directed by Commander Spencer R. Goldstein. The post also hosts holiday parades, visits to veterans in nursing homes and VA hospitals and other community events.
