Eaton Vance Management is a division of Eaton Vance who plays a role in the investment industry as a wealth manager. The company offers products that address all phases of an investor's lifetime, such as the creation and growth of wealth, the protection and preservation of its value and the distribution of wealth. It emphasizes tax efficiency. Eaton Vance and its affiliates have managed nearly $114 billion in assets as of Jan. 31, 2006, for more than 100 investment companies, as well as individual and institutional accounts that includes those of corporations, hospitals, retirement plans, universities, foundations and trusts. The 1979 merger of two Boston-based investment firms formed the company, Eaton & Howard, established in 1924, and Vance, Sanders & Company, established in 1934. Eaton Vance Management is headquartered in Boston.
