HUMC Preschool is a developmental preschool program housed in the church building, welcoming children from 2 1/2 to 5 years old (toilet trained) without regard to race, color, creed, or religion. The Preschool is licensedby the Department of Social Services under the Commonwealth of Virginia Code of Licensing; this helps to assure parents that childcare programs assume the responsibility for the supervision, protection, well being, and safety of a child. The goal at Herndon United Methodist Church Preschool is to provide a warm, nurturing environment, giving each child the room, guidance and encouragement to develop confidence through active participation in carefully designed learning activities. There will be opportunities to play and learn; to be curious creatively; and to feel success through achievement in an atmosphere of faith, hope, and love.
