Established in 1937, the Housing Authority of the City of Frederick is an autonomous, nonprofit public corporation that addresses the housing needs of low-income residents in Frederick, Md. Its department of physical services is responsible for the maintenance and modernization of housing units. The authority s department of housing handles overall housing operations. Its department of finance is responsible for administrative, accounting and procurement functions of the authority. The Housing Authority of the City of Frederick administers the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program, which assists eligible low-income families to help pay their rent. Its moderate rehabilitation program provides project-based rental assistance for low-income families. In addition, the authority organizes a variety of events for residents, including health fairs, game nights and training programs. It is located in Frederick, Md.
