Templeton Elementary School is located within a residential section of Riverdale Park. The school has been under improvement, after it was put under the school improvement status of "focus developing" following low state test scores. However, according to Principal Marlowe Blount-Rich, the 2009-10 school year was one of its best school years yet and the school is continuing to work to improve test scores with the help of more student enrichment programs.
