The Stanton Community Center was named after the Stanton School that was founded in 1900 as the first African American school in Annapolis. As a hub for the community at large, the Stanton Center offers a multitude of programs to help enrich all aspects of city residents lives.
Anne Arundel Medical Center sponsors a free medical and dental clinic weekly to serve both uninsured and under-insured individuals as a safety net for medical care.
Many other great programs, such as the food program, substance abuse program, adult basic skills class (leads to earning GED), brain games for children (like chess and checkers to encourage critical thinking) are always rotating on the schedule to provide that extra bit of support for local citizens.
