In 1946, the Pompeii Permanent Building Association opened its doors one evening a week in an old venerable Baltimore City neighborhood called Highlandtown. In 1980, with its new name now Severn Savings Bank, the bank relocated its headquarters to Annapolis, MD and began a fulltime operation.
Eventually, Severn evolved from a Federal Home Loan Bank to a Federal Stock Savings Bank, with deposits insured by the Maryland Savings Share Insurance Corporation.
This Severn Bank offers certificates of deposit, retirement accounts, personal checking accounts and commercial checking accounts, among other services.
With a mission to enhance the community, Severn focuses on investing in the climate, culture, commerce and people of the Chesapeake region by emphasizing all types of loans for property in Anne Arundel County and other parts of Maryland, Delaware and Northern Virginia.
