Opened in 1951, Rodgers Forge Elementary School (RFES) serves students in the southern area of Towson. RFES is unique in that it is right next door to Dumbarton Middle School. The two schools share a large athletic field and most students who graduate from Rodgers Forge attend Dumbarton for middle school. More recently, Rodgers Forge has been a posterchild for the county's school overcrowding issues, at one point operating at nearly 200 percent capacity. With the opening of nearby West Towson Elementary, however, things are slowly returning to normalcy for the school.
The school's colors are red and white. The school mascot is Rodger the Colt.
